The 39 acres lake is situated in a natural valley in the mild climate of central France. The lake that can be booked by a maximum of 16 anglers each week has an incredible head of 30’s and 40’s, 50’s and 60’s.

The depth of the lake varies from 2ft in the shallows, to 8ft in the deeper areas and there is very little weed in the lake to worry about.

Here at Cherpont we care about the safety of our carp and have therefore introduced a few basic rules to ensure that they are as safe as possible. A full list of the rules can be found further down this page, however we do have a three rod limit, there is a nut ban and anglers can only use barbless hooks.

Once you arrive at the fishery you will be give time to have a look around before the draw for swims which is only entered into by paying guests.

General Rules

Because of the unknown quality of some of the unhooking mats used by guests at Cherpont, we have decided, that from now on, we will supply good quality Unhooking Mats and XL Recovery Weigh Slings at the lake for your use. This is to protect the well being of our fish, which has always been important to us. So remember if you are going this season leave your Unhooking Mat and Weigh Sling at home.

01. No sacking of fish for any length of time, for any reason.

02.Recovery Slings (provided) to be used to support fish when lifting from water.

03.Recovery Slings (provided) for weighing fish.

04. Micro-Barbed and Barbless hooks only.

05. No Braid , Shock Leaders or Lead Core on Carp Rods.

06. Fused Leaders may be used but Lead must be able to release from Leader.

07. Sensible use of Lost lead Safety Clips is permitted.

08. Minimum 14lb B.S. Mono reel line on Carp Rods.

09. Braid can be used on Marker and Spod Rods.

10. No bare line rigs allowed, rig tubing of 25cm Minimum to be used to protect fish.

11. No nuts of any type allowed.

12. Only particles prepared and purchased at the lake are allowed.

13. No Wading other than in the margins.

The bailiffs are under strict instructions to check and make sure all rules are kept.
